halo 1 modding

i want to mod halo 1 for xbox
how do i do that?
and all i want for it is the new maps for it to play with my friends.

Well first you need a modded xbox. www.xbox-scene.com < learn how to mod your xbox there, don't ask how to mod it here. After just use an app like DVD2xbox and save halo 1 on your hard drive and then you can FTP the maps over, decompress them, mod them, compress them and FTP back, or open the X (I think) folder and find the cache00*.maps and 3,4, and 5 are mp maps..FTP those and mod those and put them back on in the X folder and start that map up. If you need soem help, AIM me and I'll tell you how to soft mod if you have the stuff and if it's modded then I'll tell you how to edit the maps.

i have it already modded for halo 2.
now i want to mod halo.

but is there a halo 1 modding tut?
and where do i get halo 1 maps like map packs.
i didnt understand in the halo xbox forum.

How do you get Halo 1 map packs? www.game-gateway.com of course. Register and check it out. They have 6 map packs ready to download for Halo 1. You can burn them to a disc, or FTP them to your xbox what ever works for you. If you need some help, feel free to AIM me @ forget2rememb3r.

uh i found this halo oraganzier where you put all halo maps in.
and it says u need the bink files.
does anyone have them?

for some reason on gamegateway.
i cant download the halo maps.
i mean i can.
but in a certain point. it jus stops.
and when i minimize the download it jus says file download. no percent.
